Car Sparks Australia was started in 1989 by Rick as a one-person mobile service. With the consolidation of trade customers and private sector customers, the first workshop was leased in 1992, 50 metres from the present workshop, incorporating one mobile Auto Electrical Service vehicle for onsite service.

Car Sparks Australia then began to grow and employed their first employee; then their first apprentice in 1994. Growth increased rapidly, and by 1996, with a total of five employees and one part-time office person, they sought after and were able to secure higher profile, larger premises to lease.

The increased professionalism of the business worked to ensure further growth and respectability on the Gold Coast. Car Sparks Australia have always attempted to employ two apprentices at any time, ensuring stability of labour and ensuring an up-to-date technical level which flows into the workshop.

In 1999, Car Sparks Australia was a finalist in the Queensland Government Training Awards. By having a higher profile they also gained RACQ Service Approved Repairer Status and more recently BOSCH Authorised Repairer. Car Sparks Australia has accounts with all leading Auto Electrical Suppliers and also the major buying group, Capricorn Society, which enables out-of-trade purchases with in-trade prices, with a huge database of wholesalers. Car Sparks Australia are BOSCH Service agents, Mongoose and RACQ Service Agents and repairers.
